The Cannabiz Association (CA) is seeking an exemption under Bill 178 on behalf of the approximately 25,000 medicinal cannabis patients in Ontario. This number does not include those who self-medicate nor those who have not self-identified as patients. There are approximately, 1,100,000 regular cannabis consumers in the province of Ontario.
The CA believes that Bill 178 and the exemption for medicinal cannabis presents an opportunity for the Ontario government to extend it’s harm reduction policies and to establish regulations and standards that benefit the industry, the Government, the public and cannabis patients.
Bill 178 in its current form poses many harm inducing risks, to patients & the public,
rather then its intended purpose of harm reduction.
